ART EXPLORERS BAY AREA
We specialize in hands - on art education classes for ages 5 and above.
This includes camps, workshops, after school enrichment classes, in-school sessions, birthday parties, adult workshops, and private lessons for
both children and adults.
There’s no right or wrong way to be an artist!
At a young age, children are taught to follow rules, especially in a teaching environment. We will offer steps and guidelines to emulate a specific style,
but the student is encouraged to make their artwork their own. Even with
the same direction, each student’s project will look different
and an individual’s style will begin to evolve.
We’ll encourage each student to increase their observation skills to look things like the shape of something; the layout; the colors; or the scale. By increasing their observation, the student will gain confidence. Think of us as an art coach. Just like a soccer coach, we’ll provide tips and practice
to enhance your child’s artwork!
Linda J. Kenney
Owner and Director
Linda grew up as part of a loving, nurturing family of six children; it has strongly influenced her love of children and the sweet chaos surrounding large groups of these energy exuding little people.
Linda was born with creative genes. As a child she was a prolific greeting card designer for her family members. She has been classically trained in graphic design and photography. She now enjoys watercolor painting for pleasure.
Linda has been an art enrichment teacher for many years, where she has developed and executed her own art appreciation curriculum. She also had been the director of an extended care program for five years, which has given her the people and classroom management skills . . . and patience . . . necessary to run camps and children’s workshops. She looks forward to guiding your children on their path of artistic growth and discovery.
Linda enjoys sharing the development of art pieces with others. This led to a natural transition into teaching art to adults as well. The projects may be different, but the steps for creating art are very similar no matter what the age is of the creator.
Linda has one grown son, who gained his creative side from his mom. He has often enjoyed building and designing things throughout his life.
